If you have ever liked gambling you will understand its addiction and enjoyment, whether it’s a slot machine, horse racing, or even Blackjack. Sometimes it is a buzz or a quick way to get rich (if you are lucky).

It can be an adrenaline-pumping activity, however, take things too far, and sometimes it can overwhelm you to the point of addiction. But there can be a reason behind this that is sometimes out of the user’s control.

Some information on gambling and why it may be down to more than simple pleasure. Gambling can sometimes be like a drug or like alcohol in the way it takes over with an estimated 0.5% of adults being a gambling addict. My own borderline journey with gambling nearly took hold. My view is it is an easy way to get caught up in the whole thing, lucky for me I manage to walk away from it, unlike many others whose whole lives are destroyed by gambling.

Like drugs user, many people frown upon gambling addicts. When people gamble is for the adrenaline rush or as a way to win money or both.

Many of us place the odd bet or play the lottery but some take it further. Gambling can be for various reasons mainly to do with personal problems, but nowadays there is a proven link with mental illness or gambling is like a mental illness.

Just like any other addiction, it can become out of control with bad consequences even if few people sympathize you can help your addiction to gambling with cognitive-behavioral therapy or counseling. The fact of the matter is there is nothing wrong with gambling unless you take it too far.

The rule being in the long run you lose far more than you gain money-wise. If you feel a buzz too much then avoid places where you can gamble and make it fun.

Rules are rules so follow them and gambling won’t be a problem.
