There are many avenues to take to be good at writing but many of them are a waste of time and money.

All I can say when it comes to writing the best lesson you can get is the one you teach yourself.

Practise, practise, practise as there is no secret to being good at writing, no magic pill just hard work. It doesn't matter how many times you write an article to get it right ‘just keep going’

My advice is don’t waste your time and money on a precious college diploma ( I got several). Like always I am not knocking a degree or a diploma they are useful but I spent 2 and half years studying various modules, countless essay only to find I new little about actual writing.

So when it comes down to it the only way is just write ( a lot)

Writing is a bit like riding a Horse anyone can do it but it takes practice. Don't worry if most of what you like to write goes straight into the bin as even famous writers such Ernest Hemingway, George Orwell were well known for it.

So you may ask who I am to preach well I recently manage to find work with a credible publication ( a couple of articles in the making which is near enough)

My many thousands spent on diplomas expensive writers courses with top well writers journalist etc wasted.

So why don’you learn anything new

Probably because writing is a personal journey a long and difficult path.

The fact being it is never a better time to be a writer so if writing is your dream the best way is to write with passion from the heart and keep the faith as eventually someone will see what you write as something worthwhile.

And any things after that is purely a plus
